Mabel Allison Reddin, age 96, of Fort Worth, TX, passed away peacefully on December 7, 2023, at Colonial Gardens Memory Care center after a recent decline in her health. She was born August 15, 1927 in Hampton and was a graduate of Thornton High School.
Mabel was a long-time member of Fordyce First Baptist Church and later First Baptist Church in Hampton. More recently, she attended Countryside Baptist Church in Mansfield, TX.
She held unique and varied jobs during her career including those as a nursing assistant, dental assistant, clerk at Fordyce Lumber Co., real estate agent, and Administrative Assistant at both Phelps Dodge Cable plant in Fordyce, and at International Paper company in Camden. While in Hampton she was a major knitter of Prayer Shawls at the Hampton Methodist Church, providing beautiful shawls to those in need.
Mabel may be remembered for her annually hosting a beautiful nativity scene each year in Chambersville, complete with live animals and hundreds of luminarias. People traveled far & wide to see it on Christmas Eve.
Mabel loved to travel, taking numerous cruises with friends and relatives. Later in life, she developed an interest in the Razorbacks and tailgated at many of their football games.
She is survived by her son Ed (Sandra) Hearnsberger of Fort Worth, TX, her grand children, Lisa (Gerry) Cox of Travelers Rest, SC, and Leigh Daniels of Greenville, SC, great-grand children, Alexandra Zandkarimi, Jacob Hale, Kennedy Daniels, Sam Daniels, and great-great grand child Ava Zandkarimi.
She was preceded in death by her parents,"Les" and Fannie Allison of Hampton, as well as her siblings, Rubye Lea Henderson, "Kitty" Smith, Joe Allison, and Jane Jones. She was also preceded in death by her husbands, Robert E. L. Hearnsberger (42 years) and "Pete" Reddin (11 years). Her cremains will be buried at Oak Grove Cemetery in Chambersville, Ark.
There will be no services in Arkansas.
