Loyd Arlene Stedman

Loyd Arlene (Womble) Stedman, 86, of Carlisle, AR went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, November 12, 2009 after a short stay at Hospice Home Care of West Little Rock, AR. Born October 8, 1923 she was a daughter of the late Lloyd Womble and Ruby (Clemens) Womble. She was preceded in death by her husband, Wilburn (W.D.) Stedman, and a sister, Margie Womble Murphy. She and her husband were co-owners/operators of Stedman's Grocery and were members of Temple Baptist Church. She is survived by a son, Lt. Col. (Ret.) Danny Arlen Stedman and his wife, Barbra Weeks Stedman; a daughter, Sheila Stedman Hornaday and her husband, SFC (Ret.) Alan Lloyd Hornaday; a sister, Patty Womble Cottrell; 5 grandchildren - Dr. Stephanie Stedman Flaherty, Stacey Stedman Riley, WO1 Collin Hornaday, Kerbi Hornaday Semmler, and Sgt. Cory Hornaday; 4 great-grandchildren; and a host of family and friends. Visitation will be held Friday, November 13 from 6 - 8 p.m. at Benton Funeral Home in Fordyce, AR. Funeral services will be held at the Benton Funeral Home Chapel on Saturday, November 14 at 11 a.m. with Bro. Mike McEuen officiating. Burial will follow at Oakland Cemetery.
