Louis A. Butler, 92, of Sparkman, died Thursday October 21, 2010 at the Ouachita Medical Center in Camden. He was born in Sparkman, AR on January 27, 1918 to the late James H. & Mattie Ila Shaddock Butler. He was a retired truck driver & a Methodist. Mr. Butler honorably & faithfully served his country in the United States Army during World War II, where he received the bronze star, & the Purple Heart.
He is survived by his son, Mike Butler of San Bernardino, CA; two daughters, Linda Butler Orlofsky of Greeley, CO, Cheryl Lynn Butler Smith of Las Vegas, NV; a brother, James L. Butler of Sparkman, AR; two sisters, Mary L. Langley of Sparkman, AR, Jessie Ruth Morris of Sparkman, AR; five grandchildren, Sandy Butler of San Bernardino, CA, Stephanie Vallejo of Greely, CO, Jeff Butler of Greely, CO, Michelle Peartree of Bethleham, PA, Caitlin Walters of Las Vegas, NV; & six great grandchildren, Savanah Butler of San Bernardino, CA, Daylen Vallejo, of Greely, CO, Jaedyn Vallejo of Greely, CO, Drake Walters of Las Vegas, NV, Madilyn Walters of Las Vegas, NV, & Julia Peartree of Bethleham, PA. Mr. Butler was preceded in death by his wife, Thelma Pate Butler, & two sisters, Louise Lewis & Martha Corine Butler.
Graveside services will be 2:00 pm Tuesday October 26, 2010 at the Sardis Cemetery, with the Rev. Max Deaton officiating.
