Lola Elese Smith

Lola Elese Smith, 88, of Harrell died Friday, January 24, 2014 at Oak Ridge Nursing Home in El Dorado. She was born June 6, 1925 in Bradley County, Arkansas. She was a member of Canaan Baptist Church in Harrell and had owned and operated Smith's Grocery store in Harrell for many years. She is preceded in death by her parents, Fred Williams and Leuna Mulligan Williams; her husband of 58 years, Laron Smith; one sister, Mary Williams; and two brothers, C.G. Williams and Lamar Williams. She is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Rickey and Dottie Smith of Hampton; one daughter and son-in-law, Linda and Eddie Childers of El Dorado; one brother, Billy Joe Williams of Cedar Point, KS; one sister, Sylvia Ann Williams of Camden; three grandchildren, Jason Smith of Hampton, Clayton Childers and his wife, Angie of El Dorado, Katrina Childers of Kemp, TX; two great grandchildren, Caleb and Aubrey Kay Childers of El Dorado. The family would like to give a special thanks to the staff of Oak Ridge Nursing Home for their kind and professional care. Visitation will be Sunday 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Benton Funeral Home in Hampton. Funeral services will be 2:00 pm Monday at Canaan Baptist Church in Harrell with Rev. Rickey Smith and Rev.
