Linda Janell Johnston, 83 of Spring, Texas went to be with the Lord on Sunday August 9, 2020. Born May 11, 1937, in Hampton, Arkansas, she was the daughter of the late Claude Duvall Smead and Jetta Vivian Brown.
She was a cherished and dedicated employee of Texas Children’s Pediatrics for over 20 years. She enjoyed cooking for family, touring the country on a motorcycle with her husband, and making everyone around her laugh.
She is preceded in death by her parents; her brothers, Dale Smead and Ronnie Smead; four sisters, Hazel Smead, Mildred Hardesty, Mary Settlemoir, and Carmen Baker.
She is survived by her husband of 63 years, Jack Johnston; two sons, Mickey Johnston and wife Christi, Marty Johnston; daughter, Linda Richardson; two sisters, Dean Hardesty of Kokomo, IN, and Frances Doss of Clinton, AR; four grandchildren, Brandon Johnston, Renee Richardson, Jake Richardson and Elizabeth Richardson, and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation is scheduled for Thursday August 13 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Spring Creek Baptist Church. Funeral services are 10:00 a.m. Friday, August 14 at Spring Creak Baptist Church. Graveside services will be 11:00 am Saturday, August 15 at McFarland Cemetery near Banks, Arkansas under the direction of Benton Funeral Home in Fordyce.
