Linda Sue Brent

Linda Sue Brent, age 73 of Fordyce, went to be with her Lord and Savior, Monday October 15, 2012. Linda was born September 10, 1939 to W.O. and Norma Sue Guynn in Gurdon, Arkansas.

Linda was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Fordyce for 43 years. Her church was a beacon in her life. She served her Lord faithfully as Children's Department Chairman, Children's Sunday School Teacher and Communion Steward. She treasured her Christian friends in United Methodist Women and in her circle.

Linda very much enjoyed being involved in her community through the following: GFWC Sesame Club, serving one term as president, Daughters of the American Revolution, Chicot Trace Chapter, serving one term as president, charter member of the Dallas County Museum, serving as Docent Chairman, the Dallas County Library Board and Dallas County Hospital Auxiliary. Linda was also a member of B&B Travelers, a group of eight ladies who have enjoyed trips across the U.S.A. since 1990.

Preceding her in death was her father William O. Guynn. She is survived by a special mother Sue Guynn Freel; her loving devoted husband of 53 years, Jack Brent; son Clark Brent and wife Penny, and grandson, Jack all of Fordyce; son Stuart and his wife Debra, grandsons Hayden and Ryan all of Bryant, AR; one brother Larry Guynn and wife Kim; nephew John and his wife Julian and their sons Nathaniel and Nicholas; niece Emily and her children Jamison and Mykala all of Denver, CO.

The family will receive friends 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday at Benton Funeral Home. Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Thursday at the First United Methodist Church in Fordyce with Dusty Rhodes and Rev. Bill Cato officiating. Burial will follow at Stoney Point Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to the First United Methodist Church, 104 East 4th. Fordyce, AR 71742, or to the Arkansas Children's Hospital, P.O. Box 2222, Little Rock, AR 72201.
