Lena Mae Cranford, 94, of Fordyce died Tuesday, August 2, 2016 at her home in Fordyce. She was born April 19, 1922 in Sparkman, Arkansas. She was a homemaker and a member of First United Methodist Church in Fordyce. She was very active in the community of Fordyce; serving on the Dallas County Fair Board, a member of the Dallas County Home Extension Club, craft coordinator for the Fordyce on the Cotton Belt Festival, and she volunteered at the Dallas County Hospital. She was also an excellent quilt maker. She is preceded in death by her parents, John Hogue and Connie Vann Hogue; husband, Preston L. Cranford; one daughter, Peggy Bryant; one brother; and two sisters. She is survived by two sons, Carrol (Linda) Holmes of Fordyce, Don (Nancy) Cranford of Fordyce; one daughter, Paulette Gray of Fordyce; one brother, Eddy Hogue of Sparkman; one sister, Evelyn Dunn of East Camden; nine grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. Visitation will be Wednesday 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Benton Funeral Home in Fordyce. Funeral services will be 10:00 am Thursday at Benton Funeral Home with Rev. Phil Smith officiating.
