Larry Bayne Pierce, age 88 of Fordyce, died Saturday, December 10, 2022 at St. John’s Place in Fordyce, Arkansas. He was born August 18, 1934 in Ivy, Arkansas. Larry owned and operated Pierce Pulpwood for over 30 years, was a pilot, a two- year president of the Optimist Club, a devoted member and deacon at Zion Baptist Church, had a 2nd degree black belt in taekwondo, and was an avid crappie fisherman.
Larry is preceded in death by his wife of 67 years, Shirley Pierce; parents, James Pierce and Lester Leona Riggan Pierce; brother, Marlin Pierce; grandson, Cass Mitchell; and son-in-law, Randy Mitchell. He is survived by three daughters, Regina Cobb of Fordyce, Debbie Mitchell of Hot Springs, Jill (Bobby) Ryder of Conway; brother, James Doyle Pierce of Pine Bluff; three grandchildren, Justin (Amy) Mitchell of Hot Springs, Alanna Whiteside of Fordyce, Taylor (Ryan) Parker of Hot Springs; four great grandchildren, Maddy Whiteside, Presley and Hollyn Mitchell, Pierce and Ivy Parker.
Visitation will be Wednesday 12:30 pm until 2:00 pm at Benton Funeral Home in Fordyce. Funeral services will be 2:00 pm Wednesday at Benton Funeral Home with Rev. Scott Smith officiating. Burial will follow at Stoney Point Cemetery. To sign the online register visit
