Lacy L. Evans

Lacy L. Evans, 91, of Fordyce, died Saturday February 14, 2009 at the Dallas County Medical Center. Mr. Evans was born in Calhoun County, on April 16, 1917 to the late George Washington & Pharow Jones Evans. He was a retired Farmer, a Navy Veteran & member of the Woodberry Baptist Church.

He survived by his three sons, Laverne Evans of Thornton, AR, Lavell Evans of Hampton, AR, Lamar Evans of Fordyce, AR; a daughter, Lanell Tippit of Hot Springs, AR; seventeen grandchildren, twenty-two great grandchildren, & six great great grandchildren. Mr. Evans was preceded in death by his wife Minnie Evans, two sons, Lavone "Whitey" Evans, Lavoid Evans, five brothers, & three sisters.

Funeral services will be 10:00 AM Tuesday February 17, 2009 at the Benton Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in Evans Cemetery near Bearden, with the Rev. LeRoy Jones & Rev. Harold Simms officiating. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 9:00 pm Monday evening at the funeral home in Fordyce. Arrangements are by Benton Funeral Home of Fordyce.
