Juanita Gaston, 96, of Sparkman, died Thursday December 11, 2008 at her home. Mrs. Gaston was born in Ouachita County Arkansas on May 17, 1912 to the late Claude & Mattie Overman Dunlap. She was a homemaker & the oldest active member of the First Baptist Church in Sparkman.
She is survived by her son, Tommy Gaston & his wife Linda of Sparkman, AR, a daughter Wanda Gaston of Camden, AR; three grandchildren, Larry Gaston of Sparkman, AR, Angel Pigott & her husband Walt of Sparkman, AR, Michael Gaston & his wife Jennifer of Camden, AR; & nine great grandchildren; Mrs Gaston was also survived by her special care givers, Betty Stamps, Ruth Ford, Janie Smith, Dorothy Randle, Amy Holland, & Joyce Ray. She was preceded in death by her husband, Garland Gaston, two brothers, Keneth & Raymon Dunlap; two sisters, Frances Jones, & Jean Brewster; & one grandson, John Garland Gaston.
Funeral services will be 2:00 pm Saturday December 13, 2008 at the First Baptist Church in Sparkman. Burial will be in Sparkman Cemetery with the Rev. Eric Moffett & Rev. David Dillard officiating. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 pm Friday evening at the funeral home in Bearden. Arrangements are by Benton Funeral Home of Fordyce.
