Joyce Ann Dees, affectionately known as “Granny”, age 76 of Kingsland, passed away on Monday, June 27, 2022 at St. John’s Place in Fordyce, AR. Joyce was born October 30, 1945 in Cotton Valley, Louisiana to Louis and Esther Pate. Preceding her in death are her parents, son Scotty Allen Stringfellow, granddaughter, Brianna Green, siblings Shirley Richardson, Peggy Chamberlain, Mary Hearnsberger and Charles Pate.
She is survived by her husband of 36 years Earl Dees of Kingsland, her children Billy (Melanie) Stringfellow of Sparkman, Bobby (Terri) Stringfellow of Fordyce, Linda (Ben) Green of Fordyce, Emily Huff of Fordyce, Cannon (Karen) Dees of Kingsland, and Dennis Dees of Kingsland, along with eleven grandchildren and nineteen great-grandchildren. Also surviving her is her brother David (Brenda) Pate of Lake Charles, Louisiana, as well as a host of nieces and nephews.
Joyce was a homemaker and a former employee of Fordyce Picture Frame. She enjoyed singing, dancing, drawing, painting, hunting, fishing, crochet, and spending time with family and friends. She was a member of Kingsland Missionary Baptist Church. She also attended Kingsland Assembly of God Church.
A graveside memorial service will be at 10:00 a.m. Saturday July 16 at Stoney Point Cemetery with Dr. Jeremy Horton officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family asks memorials be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
