John David Wright

John David Wright, age 83, of Santa Rosa, CA passed from this life Wednesday, June 25, 2014 at his home. John was born August 11, 1930 in Fordyce, Arkansas to parents Jim and Mary Wright. John and his wife, Joan were married for 49 years. Joan passed away in 1999. Joan also is from Arkansas. For their honeymoon they set out on an adventure to California! John was called to duty by The United States Army where he served his country proud in the Korean War. He achieved the rank of Master Sergeant. After the Army, he returned to his bride in California where they chose to settle down and raise a family. John is survived by his two children, Michael and Teri Wright, his grandchild Jason Wright, and his great grandchild, Ella Wright. All are residents of Northern California. John is preceded in death by one sister, Hazel Shahan; four brothers, James, Bobby, Lewis and Billy Wright. Visitation will be 9:00 am until 10:00 am Thursday at Benton Funeral Home in Fordyce. The funeral service will immediately follow visitation. Burial will be at Salem Cemetery near Bearden; John and Joan's final resting place. They are together in a much better Place!
