John Stephen Smith

John Stephen Smith, 66, of Fordyce, affectionately known by many as Steve, left this earth age and entered into Heaven with His sister, Betty Smith Strong by his side on September 22, 2017. Steve was greeted by his Heavenly Father and earthly father, John Hugh Smith; his mother, Loeta Owens Smith; brother, Phillip Hugh Smith and brother-in-law, John Edward Strong. Steve so loved music and singing. He had a love for his home place in Jacinto. He also was a walking history book and dictionary. He never forgot anyone or anything. Visitation will be 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Monday at Benton Funeral Home in Fordyce. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the Benton Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at Wheeler Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Wheeler Cemetery in Dallas County. Arrangements are by Benton Funeral Home in Fordyce.
