John W. “Mr. John” Howard, age 73, of Thornton died Sunday, July 24, 2022 at Dallas County Medical Center in Fordyce, Arkansas. He was born October 11, 1948 in Sparkman, Arkansas. John was a retired Master Butcher and volunteer for The Head Start Program. He is preceded in death by his parents, Hillard T. “Red” Howard, Gertrude Ratcliff Howard; step mother, Liz Howard; three brothers, Theo Howard, Jerry Howard, Terry “Taco” Howard. He is survived by his wife, Becky Callaway Howard of Thornton; one daughter, Calinda Green and husband Gary of Farmington; one son, John Wayne Howard and wife Deidre of Eagle Mills; two brothers, Charles Howard of Bearden, James Howard of Holly Springs; three sisters, Barbara Bledsoe of El Dorado, Lori Scroggins of Cleveland, Ranea Dear of Rayville, LA; eight grandchildren, Alec Hopkins, Montana Taylor, Kailey Larkins, Layney Howard, Waylan Howard, David Dominguez, Shelby Green and Wesley Green; five great grandchildren, Maliak, Corrie, Gracie, Rosalina, and Phoebe; and hundreds of Head Start kids that loved him dearly.
Visitation will be this Tuesday from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Benton Funeral Home in Bearden. Funeral services will be 10:00 am Wednesday at Benton Funeral Home in Fordyce with Rev.
