John L. Hopkins, 73, of Fordyce died Friday, May 25, 2012 at Dallas County Medical Center in Fordyce. He was born November 17, 1938 in Telephone, TX. He worked for Raney and Sons Trucking in Fordyce, he was an Air Force Vietnam veteran and a member of Beech Grove Baptist Church in Fordyce. He is preceded in death by his parents, John and Nancy Josephine McKeny Hopkins. He is survived by his wife, Sarah Hopkins of Fordyce; two sons, William Derrall Taylor of Fordyce and Shane Taylor of Fort Smith; three daughters, Debra Lawson of Alma, Janel Benites and Joline Launius both of Fordyce; one brother, Bill Hopkins, of Spokane, WA; four sisters, Betty Clark of Howe, TX, Merle Nash of Diana, TX, Dorothy Skiner of Denison, TX, Nancy Hill of Greenville, TX; seven grandchildren and six great grandchildren. Visitation will be Monday 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Benton Funeral Home in Fordyce. Funeral services will be 2:00 pm Tuesday at Benton Funeral Home with Rev. B.L. Blann officiating.
