Joe Richard Mitchell, 88, of Kingsland died Monday, April 16, 2012 at Dallas County Medical Center in Fordyce. He was born January 26, 1924 in Kingsland, Arkansas. He was a retired millwright, a Baptist and attended Smith Chapel Church of God. He is preceded in death by his parents, Joseph L. "Bud" Mitchell and Ida Hall Mitchell, brothers, Clyde, Charlie, A.J. and Paul Mitchell; sisters, Ruth Keene, Pauline Mosley and Clariece Harris. He is survived by his wife, Wanda Fae Morgan Mitchell of Kingsland; two sons and daughters-in-law, Joe D. and Esther Mitchell of Conway, Bruce and Lynette Mitchell of Rison; brother, Carl Mitchell of Warren; four grandchildren, Esther Schultz of Conway, Raymond Santis of Star City, Brian Mitchell of Maumelle, Erik Mitchell of Little Rock; and five great grandchildren. Memorials may be made to Smith-Morgan Cemetery Association C/O Paula Searcy 1400 Hwy 8 Kingsland, AR 71652. Visitation will be Tuesday 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Benton Funeral Home in Fordyce.
