Joe Fred McDonald, 84 of Hampton died Monday March 8, 2010 at the Medical Center of South Arkansas at El Dorado. Born December 12, 1925 in Calhoun County, he was the son of the late Benjamin Franklin and Minnie Haynes McDonald. Mr. McDonald was the Circuit and County Clerk for Calhoun County for many years. He was a Navy veteran of World War II, serving on the battleship U.S.S. West Virginia. He is preceded in death by his parents; his wife; Genelle McDonald and a sister, Audrey Verne Barksdale. Survivors include two sons; Gary McDonald (Beth) of Heber Springs, Joey McDonald (Teresa Westfahl) of Hampton; five grandchildren, Mark McDonald, Courtney McDonald, Kyle McDonald, Amy Farris, Adam McDonald; six great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 5 to 8 p.m. at Benton Funeral Home in Hampton. Funeral services are 10:00 a.m. Thursday at Antioch Baptist Church with Rev. Mike Nutt officiating.
