Jo Ann Abbott

Jo Ann D. Abbott, 81, of Bearden died Thursday January 21, 2016 at Ouachita County Medical Center in Camden. Born October 20, 1934 in St. Louis, MO, she was a daughter of the late John E. Dalton and Dora Maine Morris Dalton. She was a member of the First Southern Baptist Church at Bearden. She was preceded in death by her husband, Dean Abbott; two brothers, John and Don Dalton; one sister, Mary Jane Harrison; and two beloved nephews, John and Donnie Dalton. She is survived by a son, Wally Abbott and wife, Stephanie of Bearden; two daughters, Sherry Jordan and husband, Ernest of Jasper, TX, Donna Sue Rowland and husband, Owen of Bearden; sister-in-law, Lyndell Hughes of Fordyce; ten grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; seven nieces and nephews; twenty three great nieces and nephews; twenty five great great nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends Sunday from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at First Southern Baptist Church in Bearden. Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Monday at the First Southern Baptist Church at Bearden with Rev. Jacob Ricker, Rev. David Dillard, Rev. Andy Hughes, and Jackie Bevill officiating. Burial will follow at Moss Hill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to CARTI or Arkansas Children's Hospital. Arrangements are by Benton Funeral Home of Bearden/Fordyce.
