Jimmy Ray Johnson

Jimmy Ray Johnson, 79 of Fordyce died Saturday January 22, 2022 at the VA Medical Center in Little Rock. Born July 10, 1942 at Starks, LA, he was a son of the late Morgan and Olivia Johnson.
He was an Army veteran of the Vietnam War and retired from Fordyce and Princeton Railroad. He also worked at Benton Funeral Home, and he loved everyone there. He loved the Lord and would witness to anyone he met, and was a member of Tinsman First Baptist Church.
He is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Billie “Short” Johnson; son, Jamie Johnson, granddaughter, Jennifer Gray; brother, Russell Johnson; sister, Pauline Johnson.
He is survived by his children, Carla McKinley and Billy and their son Brayden of Batesville, AR, Jimmy Johnson, Jr. and Keith of Grosse Tete, LA, Paula Landreneau and Bob of Lafayette, LA, Teresa Robison of Lafayette, LA; step-granddaughter, Jana Thompson of Fordyce; five grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends Tuesday from 11:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. at Benton Funeral Home in Fordyce. Graveside services will be 1:00 p.m. Tuesday at Wilmar Cemetery.
