Jimmie Tomlinson Mcduffie

Jimmie Tomlinson McDuffie, 97, of El Dorado, AR went home to be with her Lord and Savior on January 26, 2010.

Born in Hampton, AR on March 15, 1912, she was the daughter of Harvey H and Mattie Porter Tomlinson.

She moved to El Dorado in 1959, where she began her career as a seamstress at The New York Store. Afterwards, she worked in the McWilliams Furniture building for Don Kesterson of Don's Interiors for 25 years. After retirement, she spent many years as a volunteer at Union Medical Center.

She was a charter member of St Andrew Cumberland Presbyterian Church in El Dorado, AR, where she was the first woman elder. She later became an active member of Campground Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Hampton, AR.

A wonderful mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, she was fondly known as "Mamaw Mac". She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Andrew Jackson; one sister, Lois Cage; one son, Harley McDuffie; one daughter, Bonnie Teater; infant twin daughters; three brothers, Travis Tomlinson, A G Tomlinson, and Frank Tomlinson; two grandsons, Michael Spiva and Rannie Teater; one granddaughter, Cathie Sue Zackary; and two son-in-laws, Myrle Teater and Rex Spiva.

Survivors include one brother, Bill Tomlinson of Monroe, LA; one son, Larry McDuffie, and his wife Cathy of Indio, CA; two daughters, Kathy Harrison, and her husband Freddy of El Dorado and Carolyn Spiva of Hampton; ten grandchildren; twenty-three great grandchildren; and eight great, great grandchildren.

Funeral will be at 10:00 AM Friday January 29, 2010 at Campground Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Hampton, AR with the Rev Garland Skidmore officiating. Burial will be in the Means Cemetery in Hampton, AR under the direction of Benton Funeral Home of Fordyce.

The family will receive friends from 5 until 8 PM Thursday evening at the funeral home in Hampton.
