Jimmie Hodnett, 79, of Fordyce died Monday May 24, 2010 at his home. He was born August 12, 1930 in Tinsman, Arkansas. Jim was retired from Rock Island Railroad, he was a Marine serving during the Korean War and was also a member of the V.F.W. He was preceded in death by his parents, Carrol Hodnett and Willie Bowen Whitehead; his wife, Marie Horne Hodnett, who passed away August 13, 2009. Her body was cremated and will now be buried with her husband. He was also preceded in death by one son, Ernest W. Grace, Jr. He is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Jaunice and Charles Cruce of New Edinburg; daughter-in-law, Betty Jo Grace of New Edinburg; two brothers, Ronald Hodnett of Hampton and Donald Hodnett of Thornton; sister, Jeanette Hannegan of Woodberry; sister-in-law, Sunnie Johnson of Little Rock; five grandchildren, Cindy Brian of New Edinburg, Jean Hart and Brenda Barnett both of Kingsland, Brechin Wells of Fordyce and Wade Grace of New Edinburg; nine great-grandchildren, five great-great-grandchildren and close family friend, Pam Miller Barnes of Maumelle. A special thanks to Hospice Angels of Pine Bluff and Dr. Hugh Nutt of Fordyce. Memorials may be made to Watson Cemetery Association. Visitation will be Wednesday 5:30 pm until 7:00 pm at Benton Funeral Home in Fordyce. Funeral services will be 10:00 am Thursday at Benton Funeral Home with Rev. Wayne Porter officiating.
