Jerry W. Whitmer

Jerry Whitmer, 69, of Hampton, died Wednesday June 3, 2009 at the John R. Williamson Hospice Home in El Dorado, AR. Mr. Whitmer was born in Holtville, CA on February 5, 1940. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Hampton, and was a retired Truck Driver.

Mr. Whitmer is survived by his wife of 50 years, Sue Whitmer of Hampton, AR; four sons, Russell Whitmer & his wife Kim of Hampton, AR, Keith Whitmer of Hampton, AR, Dewayne Whitmer of Rogers, AR, Joe Whitmer of Heber Springs, AR; two brothers, Johnny Denton of Sparkman, AR, Dale Denton of Sparkman, AR; a sister, Lloydine Seale & her husband, Irwin of Sparkman, AR; six grandchildren, Chase Ellis, Amanda Whitmer, Keith Whitmer, Kodie Hannegan, Tayia Whitmer, Shea Whitmer, & ten great grandchildren. Mr. Whitmer was preceded in death by his father, Russell Calvin Whitmer, his parents, Lloyd & Waldine Denton, & two brothers, Bud & Jimmy Denton.

Funeral services will be 2:00 pm Saturday, June 6, 2009 at the First Baptist Church in Hampton. Burial will be in Sardis Cemetery with the Rev. Clinton Ritchie & Rev. Neal Stevens officiating. The family will receive friends from 5:00 until 9:00 pm Friday at funeral home in Hampton. Arrangements are by Benton Funeral Home of Fordyce.
