Jerry Dean Roetzel

Jerry Dean “Papaw Frog” Roetzel, Sr. age 77, born on September 18, 1947, in Bald Knob, Arkansas, passed away peacefully on March 24, 2025, at Jefferson Regional Medical Center in Pine Bluff, Arkansas surrounded by his loving family.
He was preceded in death by his parents Wilma Patterson Roetzel & Henry Peyton Roetzel and his brothers, William, Wayne, Scotty and Lynn.
He was a devoted husband, father, brother, and a hard worker, but his favorite title was Papaw Frog. Jerry’s family meant the world to him. He was so proud of his precious wife, children and grandchildren.
Jerry was a wonderful cook and a master griller. He loved people and to tell stories. You would often find Jerry Sr. riding at the HWY 104 Flea Market on Sundays with his friends and family. His presence will be deeply missed, but his spirit will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
Jerry spent most of his career with MK Distributors in Pine Bluff, Arkansas and later traveled the country working the pipeline with his best friend Weber. There he worked tirelessly until his well-earned retirement. His wife Betty never hesitated to support her best friend. They walked together through each journey.
He is survived by his loving wife of 40 years, Betty Roetzel, sons Jerry Roetzel Jr (Rhonda), Kerry Roetzel (Christina), and daughters Tonya Lovelace (Patrick) and Shannan Whitehurst (Stephen.) Ten grandchildren, Cody (Allison), Casey (Johnna), Kate, Gracie, Bradyn (Rebekah), Brett, Reagan (Kawon), Noah, Preston (August), Keirra and three great grandchildren, Blakely, Brooklyn and Remi. Jerry also had many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends that loved him dearly.
Visitation will be Thursday, March 27, 2025, at 1:00 p.m. at Holly Springs Cemetery on HWY 9, Sparkman, Arkansas. Graveside services will follow at 2:00 p.m.
