Jerry T. Marks, age 72, died Thursday morning at Baptist Hospital in Little Rock. Jerry was born June 5, 1948 in Warren, AR, to the late Almos Marks and late Theda Livingston Childress.
Jerry is survived by a brother Ronald Marks (Elizabeth) of Bryant and a sister Judy Kirkley (James) of Crossett; nephew: Mike Kirkley; nieces: Carla McDougald, Sheila Keen and Michelle Ashley. He is also survived by an aunt, Anita Livingston of Little Rock.
Jerry graduated from Fordyce High School and from the University of Arkansas in Monticello in 1970. In 1971 Jerry began his long career with the state of Arkansas as a legislative auditor. He then transferred to the Department of Human Services working as a Research Analyst, Mental Health Fiscal Administrator and a DHS Financial Section Manager.
Jerry loved the game of tennis and could be found on the tennis court daily, especially after retirement. Jerry was a member of the LR Racquet Club.
Graveside services will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday at Hebron Cemetery outside New Edinburg. The family asks that everyone attending the service to please wear a mask and social distance. Arrangements are by Benton Funeral Home of Fordyce. To sign the online register visit
