Jerry Dale Gilbert

Jerry Dale Gilbert, 68, of Hampton, AR, died Thursday February 24, 2011. Mr. Gilbert was born in Harrell, AR, on July 22, 1942 to the late Johnnie & Gladys Cochran Gilbert. He was a retired lineman for the Ouachita Electric Company, & a Baptist. Mr. Gilbert honorably & faithfully served his country in the United States Army.

He is survived by his wife Virginia Gilbert of Hampton, AR; two daughters, Katrina Gilbert Cavaness & husband Robert of Monticello, AR, Karen Gilbert Bailey & husband David of Thornton, AR; three sons, Glen Miller & wife Shawnee of Trenton, N.C., Scott Griffin of Hampton, AR, Jimmy Griffin & wife Sabina of Hampton, AR; two brothers, Donnie Gilbert of Springhill, LA, Joe Gilbert of Bearden, AR; a sister, Gail Byrd of Hampton, AR; eleven grandchildren, Katie Grace Cavaness of Monticello, AR, Jennifer & Justin Bailey of Thornton, AR, September Stryker of Atlanta, GA, Elizabeth Gladden of Marshall, AR, Brittnay King of Burlington, IA, Kyle Broach of Hampton, AR, Trenton, Chassity & Taylor Griffin of Hampton, AR, & Sydney Pickett of Hampton, AR; & four great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a sister, Jean Mulligan.

Funeral services will be 2:00 pm Saturday February 26, 2011 at the Faustina Baptist Church in Harrell. Burial will be in Faustina Cemetery, with Brother Ricky Smith officiating. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 pm Friday evening at the funeral home in Hampton. Arrangements are by Benton Funeral Home of Fordyce.
