J.C. Singleton

Rev. J.C. Singleton, 79, of New Edinburg, AR, died Tuesday September 22, 2009 at the St. John's Nursing Home in Fordyce. Mr. Singleton was born in Perryville, AR on May 11, 1930 to the late Chester & Maudie French Singleton. He was a retired Southern Baptist Minister & Cotton Ginner.

Mr. Singleton is survived by his two sons & daughters in-law, Johnny & Elva Singleton of Monticello, AR, Jack & Christy Singleton of Slidell, LA; two daughters & sons in-law, Glenda & Jeff Childress of New Edinburg, AR, Linda & Billy Scales of New Edinburg, AR; ten grandchildren, & three great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Leah Mae Johnson Singleton.

Funeral services will be 2:00 pm Friday September 25, 2009 at the Southside Baptist Church in Fordyce. Burial will be in Flat Creek Cemetery in Fountain Hill, AR. The family will receive friends from 7:30 until 9:00 PM Thursday evening at the funeral home in Fordyce. Arrangements are by Benton Funeral Home of Fordyce.
