Janis Juanita Johnston

Janis Juanita Johnston, 82 of Hampton, died Wednesday, March 1, 2017. She was born July 9, 1934 in Hampton to the late DeWitt Porter, Sr and Ozie Williams Porter. She was also preceded in death by two sisters, Betty Watson and Thelma Porter, and her son-in-law Carroll Newton. She was a member of Harrell Methodist Church.

She is survived by her son Sam Johnston of Hampton; two daughters, Pam Newton of Hampton and Anita (Tim) Ables of Kilgore, Texas; one brother DeWitt Porter, Jr. of Hot Springs; five grandchildren, Thomas Ivy, Jonathan Ivy, Chelsie Ables (Jose) Paz all of Kilgore, Lauren Johnston of Little Rock, and Caira (Matt) Williams of Hampton; five great grandchildren, Matison Williams and Heidi Williams both of Hampton, Audrie Paz, Isaac Paz, and Layton Ivy all of Kilgore.

Visitation will be Friday evening from 6PM until 8PM at Harrell Methodist Church. Funeral services are 2PM Saturday at the church with burial following at Pickett Cemetery.
