Jane C. Green

Jane C. Green, 73, of El Dorado died Monday at the John R. Williamson Hospice House at El Dorado. Born April 27, 1940 at Warren, she was a daughter of the late James H. and Helen N. Jones. Jane was a member of East Main Baptist Church where she served as a Sunday school teacher in the children's department for many years. She was employed as a Pre-K teacher at First Methodist Church in El Dorado for several years. Her true joy was doing for others in the capacity of homemaker, loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and sister. Jane had a loving spirit and gentle nature. Many called her a mentor. She loved to bake cookies and prepare food for home bound friends. Jane leaves a legacy of wonderful memories for her family whom she loved with her whole heart. She was preceded in death by a brother, Bill Steve Jones. She is survived by her husband of 53 years, Jim Green of El Dorado; son, Michael K. Green of El Dorado; daughter, Shirley Green Blassingame and husband Jim of Tupelo, MS; brother Jimmy Jones and wife Donna of Ramsey; sister Jean Frazier and husband Charles of Fordyce; three grandchildren Holly Ann Green of El Dorado, Alex Blassingame of Tupelo, MS, Andrew Blassingame of Tupelo, MS; and three great-grandchildren, Alexis, Braydon and Trenton. Visitation will be 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Wednesday at East Main Baptist Church, 1903 East Main Street, El Dorado, AR. Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Thursday at East Main Baptist Church in El Dorado with Rev. Benjy McCann officiating. Graveside services will be 2:00 p.m. Thursday at Tanyard Cemetery near Fordyce. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Hope Landing, El Dorado, AR; East Main Baptist Church, or Tanyard Cemetery Association, Andy Taylor, President, 3600 Hwy 8, Fordyce, AR 71742.
