James Ray "Jake" Allen

James Ray “Jake” Allen 73, of Hampton died Wednesday, December 17, 2025 at South Arkansas Regional Hospital in El Dorado.

Born July 31, 1952 at Hampton, he was a son of the late Eutis Eugene Allen and Ester Nowlin Allen.

Jake spent a lifetime doing what he loved, building and working as a carpenter. However, his true love was being outdoors hunting, fishing, gardening, and spending time with his family.

Other than his parents he was preceded in death by two brothers, Jerry Allen and Carl Allen; and three sisters, Mary (Pookie) Medley, Nona Murphy, and Jimmie Sue Toney.

He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Jodean Rogers Allen; two sons, James Brandon Allen (Kayla) of El Dorado, and Jeremy Clint Allen of Hampton; two grandchildren, Anna Marie Allen and Braelyn Kate Allen; four sisters, Claudette Bradshaw (Danny), Phyllis Billins (David), Sadie Reynolds (Herschel), Judy West (Larry), one brother, Tom Allen, and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends Sunday from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Benton Funeral Home in Hampton. Graveside services will be 2:00 p.m. Monday at Dickinson Cemetery with Rev.
