James Phillip "Phil" McMullen, 65 of Sparkman, died Saturday, August 27th at his home. He was born March 13, 1951 in Camden to the late James Alfred and Bernice Reynolds McMullen. He was also preceded in death by his sister Carolyn Peterson.
He was a member of Ouachita Baptist Church. He retired from the Dallas County Road Department. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and trapping. He also had a passion for wood working and Indian culture.
He is survived by his wife Judy Ann McMullen of Sparkman; three children, Lisa Gray of Camden, Susan O'Brien and husband Gary of Sheridan, and Josh McMullen and wife Nichole of Sparkman; two sisters Ruth Ann McKinnon of Vilonia and Lois Hicks of Shreveport; nine grandchildren: Paris Emerson, Ashley Barnes, Jamey Clowers, Brandon Stell, Emily O'Brien, Abbi O'Brien, Jackson McMullen, Carter McMullen, and Kaci McMullen; and two great grandchildren.
Visitation will be Sunday evening from 5PM until 7:00PM at Ouachita Baptist Church. Funeral services are 10AM Monday at the church with burial following in Chapel Hill Cemetery. Arrangements are by Benton Funeral Home of Fordyce. To sign the online register visit www.bentonfuneralhome.net .
