James L. Marchant, 73, of Bearden, died Tuesday, April 6, 2010 at Ouachita County Medical Center in Camden. He was born April 11, 1936 in Omega, GA. He retired from the United States Air Force while stationed at MacDill Air Force Base in Tampa, FL and he also retired from the United States Post office while living in Tampa, FL. He was a member of the First Southern Baptist Church in Bearden. He was preceded in death by his parents, Leon and Evelyn Langford Marchant. He is survived by his wife, Betty Marchant of Bearden; four sisters and brothers-in-law, Lois and Clifford Mosley of Bearden, Bobby and Kenny Lacewell of Bryant, Mary and Kenneth House of Carlisle, PA, Pat and Lamar Jennings of Rison; one niece, Charlotte Henry of Bearden and her daughters, Angela Bieber of Fayetteville and Alisa Dompe of Hallsville, TX, and numerous other nieces and nephews. Visitation will be Wednesday 6:00 pm until 7:00 pm at Benton Funeral Home in Bearden. Graveside services will be 2:00 pm Thursday at Bethel Cemetery with Dr. Mike Montalbano officiating.
