James "Jim" Russell

James "Jim" Russell, age 85 of Kingsland went home to be with the Lord on Sunday July 10, 2016.
He was born March 15, 1931 in Sparkman, the son of Al and Lela Lewis Russell. He was teacher of the men's Sunday School Class and Deacon at Kingsland First Baptist Church for over 40 years. He worked as an offset printer at Hurley's in Camden, Purdue Printing at Pine Bluff, and Pine Bluff Commercial Printing. He taught printing at the Pine Bluff Reform School for almost twenty years. He was a gunsmith for several years, having his gun shop at home. He was known for his wisdom and Godly example.
He is survived by his wife of 63½ years, Janet Denton Russell; two daughters, Sandy (Stanley) Russell and Barbara Russell of Camden; son-in-law Duane Mills; six grandchildren, Jason (Heather), Shane (Cheryl), Kyle (Crystal), Heather Russell, all of Camden, Tim (Samantha) Mills of Carlisle and Luke (Katie) Russell of Benton; thirteen great-grandchildren; and a special niece Anne O'Brien of Lexington, KY.
He was preceded in death by his parents; seven sisters and one brother and a special niece; daughter Debbie Mills and grandson Jeremy Russell.
The family will receive friends Monday from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Benton Funeral Home in Fordyce. Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Tuesday at Kingsland First Baptist Church with Rev.
