James Aubrey Hopkins

James Aubrey Hopkins, 87, of Thornton died Wednesday, March 13, 2019. He was born May 10, 1931 in Thornton, Arkansas. He was a retired mechanic. He is preceded in death by his parents, Sam Hopkins and Ruby Tittle Hopkins; wife, Joan Griffin Hopkins; two brothers, George Hopkins and Norman Hopkins; three sisters, Rachel Colvert, Dot Grantham, and Liddie Elliott. He is survived by one son, Steve (Janet) Hopkins of Thornton; one daughter, Brenda Culpepper of Bearden; one brother, Sammy Hopkins of Shreveport, LA; three grandchildren, Stephanie Williams of Harmony Grove, Stacie Leavins of Sheridan, Julie Hopkins of Houston, TX; and four great grandchildren. Visitation will be Friday 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Benton Funeral Home in Bearden. Funeral services will be 2:00 pm Saturday at Benton Funeral Home in Fordyce with Rev. Steve Fleming officiating.
