James Farrell Harrison, 92 of Fordyce, passed from this life May 10, 2020 at the Dallas County Medical Center in Fordyce. He was born September 23, 1927 in Sparkman, Arkansas to the late John Fletcher Harrison and Grace Ayline Samuel Harrison. He was also preceded in death by his niece Rebecca Ann Harrison.
James was a member of First Baptist Church of Fordyce, EM Lodge # 363, and the Tri-County Shrine Club. He was retired with 20 years of service in the Army National Guard. James spent many years in the automobile business and was the owner of Harrison Motor Co.
Survivors include his wife Nancy Hargis Harrison of Fordyce who he married August 11, 1963; two daughters who were the light of his life, Donna (Stephen) Ganaway of Little Rock and Beverly (Brad) Robertson of Star City; three grandsons who gave him great joy, Harrison Andrew Ganaway, Logan Riley Robertson, and Hayden James Robertson; his brother and sister-in-law Robert E. and Ruth Harrison of Fordyce; his brother-in-law Larry (Virginia) Hargis of Warren; his nephew Bobby (Suzy) Harrison and great nephew Chris Harrison of Little Rock; and several nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be 11AM Tuesday at Oakland Cemetery in Fordyce with Rev. Rusty Ross officiating. Arrangements are by Benton Funeral Home of Fordyce. The family requests memorials be made to the First Baptist Church Bereavement Fund. To sign the online register visit
