James Emmett Nutt, 91, of Fordyce died Monday, March 7, 2016 at St. John's Place in Fordyce. He was born November 24, 1924 in Jacinto, Arkansas. He was a member of Pine Crest Missionary Baptist Church and he retired from Bearden Lumber Company. He is preceded in death by his parents, Emmett C. Nutt and Isabelle Cearley Nutt; wife, Elva Maxine Williams Nutt; three brothers, Andrew Carroll Nutt, William D. Nutt, Marlin E. Nutt; and three sisters, Evelyn Sparks, Ozalee Hahne, Gracie Lou Garner. He is survived by three sons, Terry Nutt and wife Sharry of Wylie, TX, Tommy Nutt and wife Beverly of Fordyce, Ricky Nutt and wife Carla of Curtis; one daughter, Elva Dean Walker and husband Bruce of Fordyce; two sisters, Nora B. Conway of Hope, Mildred Hudson of Camden; eleven grandchildren and twenty eight great grandchildren. Memorials may be to Pine Crest Missionary Baptist Church or to the Gideon's. Visitation will be Thursday 6:30 pm until 8:30 pm at Benton Funeral Home in Fordyce. Funeral services will be 10:00 am Friday at Benton Funeral Home with Brother Mike White and Brother Chad Cox officiating. Burial will follow at Wheeler Cemetery.
