James Donald “Don” Jordan, 86, of Fordyce passed away Thursday, September 12, 2019 at his home. He was born February 25, 1933 in Memphis, TN, he was a member of Sulphur Springs Baptist Church, and he was an army veteran of the Korean War. He is preceded in death by his parents Floyd Carl “Pappy” Jordan and Versa Marie Harper Jordan; his wife of 55 years, Gwendolyn Jane Wilkes Jordan; brothers, Paxton Jordan, Thomas J. “Tommy” Jordan; sisters, Yvonne Crolius, Sue Mendillo, Vonceil Pritchert; brothers-in-laws, Melvin Reece and Harold Wheeler.
He is survived by three daughters, Janie Daniell of Fordyce, Donna (Phillip) Young of Rye, and Pam (Ken) Henderson of Grand Prairie, TX; one son, James Donald “Tiger” (Laurie) Jordan, Jr. of Hot Springs; one brother, David (Lila) Jordan of Brighton, TN; one sister, Mary Barlow of Germantown, TN; one brother-in-law, Bruce (Betty) Wilkes of Kingsland, AR; two sisters-in-laws, Norine Reece, Valliant OK; Rosa Lee Jordan, Germantown, TN. Grandchildren, Cobi (Leannda) Cogbill, Benson (Reagan) Jordan, Zachery Henderson, Jason (Debbie) Young, Blair Jordan, Kendall Henderson, Kasey (Trey) Reid, 8 great grandchildren, 2 great great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews and friends.
Mr. Jordan was known by loved ones and friends as “Daddy Don”. Daddy Don loved his family, his friends, his country and his Lord. He drove for Greyhound for 25 years. He enjoyed spending time with friends and family. His most cherished memories were days he could spend with family and friends at “Harpertown”.
His hobbies included car club (South Arkansas Kruizers Car Club), American Legion (Arkansas Post #0078), outdoors and hunting with “Harpertown” guys.
In lieu of flower donations may be made to Dallas County Medical Center, Kindred Care Home Health or Arkansas Hospice.
