On August 30, 2015, James "Jim" A. Pierce of Hot Springs Village went to meet his savior at the age of 72. He was born October 18, 1942. Jim was a wonderful husband, father and grandfather. He loved spending time with his family. He was retired from the Dallas County Sheriff's Department and a retired fireman from the Fordyce Fire Department. He was a true Arkansas Razorback fan. He loved sports and hunting. He also loved the game of golf. He was a joy to be around.
He was preceded in death by his father, A.V. "Mutt" Pierce, mother, Willie Faye Pierce; sisters, Jean Ann Johnston and Becky Faye Pierce.
He is survived by his wife, Gloria Hauteen Pierce; daughter, Kim Hughes and husband, Charlie; son, James "Shoney" Pierce and wife Cheryl; grandsons Christopher Johnston, Houston and Max Pierce; step-granddaughter Stacy Hughes and step-great granddaughter Kylee Hough.
Visitation will be Monday from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Benton Funeral Home in Fordyce. Funeral services will be 3:00 p.m. Tuesday at the Benton Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jon Stubblefield and Rev. Willard Zeiser officiating. Burial will follow at Stoney Point Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Arkansas Hospice, Barcelona Road Baptist Church or the Junior Golf Association Scholarship Program in Hot Springs Village, AR, 58 Segovia Dr., Hot Springs Village, AR 71909.
