Jake L. Stokes, 80, of Hampton died Sunday October 28, 2012 at the Ouachita County Medical Center at Camden. Born March 24, 1932 at Tinsman, he was a son of the late Robert and Evie Drummonds Stokes. He also served in the United States Navy. He was preceded in death by his wife, Marilyn Stokes; son Jake Stokes, Jr.; three brothers and two sisters.
He is survived by his wife, Lynnelle Hensley Stokes of Hampton; daughters, Candy Young of Wilmar, Jackie Strahan of Chidester, son, Jimmy Greco of Anchorage, Alaska; step-children, Nancy Thomason of Boaz, AL, Judy Turner of Hampton; brothers, Bob Henry Stokes of Lakeside, Shelby Stokes of Cabot; grandchildren, Candace Stokes of Hampton, Jack Stokes of Hampton, Nicholas Greco of Anchorage, Alaska, Johnny Clemons of Hampton, Monica Clemons of Hampton, Allan Clemons of Chidester, Annie Adams of El Dorado; four step-grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends Tuesday from 6 PM until 8 PM at Benton Funeral Home in Hampton. Funeral services are 2:00 PM Wednesday at Campground Presbyterian Church with Rev. Garland Skidmore and Rev. Keith Nutt officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery near Hampton. Arrangements by Benton Funeral Home of Hampton/Fordyce.
