Jack W. Hearnsberger

Jack W. Hearnsberger, 95 of Fordyce, died Sunday, May 24, 2009. He was born February 14, 1914 in Chambersville, Arkansas to the late John Emmett and Amy Gray Hearnsberger. His lifelong occupation was Fordyce Bank and Trust Vice President/Cashier with the exception of his service in World War II in the Aleutian Islands. Until his death, he was an active member of the Board of Directors at Fordyce Bank and Trust. His second job was as Fordyce City Clerk and Recorder for 20 years. He also sold tickets to Fordyce Redbug football games. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and raising a garden - his tomatoes were the best! His passion was raising his boys and pine trees.

He is survived by two sons, John Emmett Hearnsberger, II MD of Nashville, AR, William Burton Hearnsberger and wife Joan of Little Rock; three grandchildren, Scott Hearnsberger, Carrie Hearnsberger Carter and husband, Chuck, Jan Hearnsberger Collins and husband, Jeremy all of Little Rock; five great-grandchildren, Caroline Carter, Annie Carter, Charlie Carter, Tate Collins and Mylie Collins.

Funeral services will be 2:00 pm Wednesday at First Baptist Church in Fordyce with burial at Chambersville Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday from 12:30 PM until 2:00 PM at First Baptist Church in Fordyce. Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church, 501 North Main, Fordyce, AR 71742 or Chambersville Cemetery Trust Fund, Pat Trammel, Treasurer, PO Box 15, Thornton, AR 71766.
