Iva Jean Harrison Shaddock of Sparkman was born October 8, 1934 in the Hollywood Community near Princeton, Arkansas. Iva Jean received her Angel Wings April 13, 2022 at the age of 87. Her parents were Henry Irving Harrison and Leila Powell Stone Harrison.
Iva Jean is survived by two brothers, Tyler (Charlotte) Harrison of Bryant, AR and Robert Henry Harrison of Sparkman, AR. Step-children: Anita (Danny) Maultsby of Brookland, TX, Danny Shaddock of Sparkman, AR, Steve (Charlotte) Shaddock of Sparkman, AR, Cathy (Billy) Owens of Holly Springs, AR and Jeff Shaddock of Sparkman, AR. Iva Jean has grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and many friends to cherish her memory. Her parents, husband, grandson and great granddaughter preceded her in death.
Iva Jean graduated from Sparkman High School. She attended Southern Arkansas University in Magnolia, AR and Henderson State University in Arkadelphia, AR. She taught school at Sparkman Elementary and Rison Elementary. She worked for the University of Arkansas Little Rock in the library. On May 15, 1971 Iva Jean married Raymond Shaddock and his five children. She became a wife and stay home mom. God blessed Iva Jean with many talents: cooking (oh those homemade yeast rolls), canning, gardening, sewing, quilting, just to name a few. It is an understatement to say Jean was an avid reader. She developed a love for reading at a young age.
Iva Jean will be greatly missed by her family in friends.
A graveside service will be 2PM Saturday at Mt. Olivet Cemetery near Sparkman. A visitation will be held at the cemetery beginning at 1:30 PM. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Ben Few Campground in care of Tyler Harrison, 320 Prospect Park Loop, Bryant, AR 72022. Arrangements are by Benton Funeral Home of Fordyce.
