Irwin Harris Colvert

Irwin Harris Colvert, 71, of Thornton, died Thursday, October 1, 2009 at his home. He was born May 17, 1938 in Camden. He was a salesman for Hol-N-One Donut in Fordyce and a member of First Baptist Church in Thornton. He served in the US Navy Reserve and was also Calhoun County Judge in 1978 and 1979. He was preceded in death by his parents, Arland Toby Colvert and Zollie Lexie Irwin Colvert and daughter, Diane Turner. He is survived by his wife, Barbara Colvert of Thornton; daughter, Vickie Haisty of Bearden; step-son, Dwayne Moon and wife Marla of Hooks, TX; step-daughter, Christina Dunavant of Apison, TN; brother, James Colvert and wife Burline of Thornton; three granddaughters, Kourtney Moon, Allyson and Jessica Dunavant; three grandsons, Justin Cannon, Zachary Fowler and Victor Turner. Visitation will be Sunday 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Benton Funeral Home in Fordyce. Funeral services will be 10:00 am Monday at Benton Funeral Home in Fordyce with Rev. Bobby George officiating.
