Irvin Purifoy, Jr.

Irvin Purifoy, Jr., 64, of Fordyce died Saturday, May 14, 2011. He was born November 29, 1946 in Bearden, Arkansas. He was a member of Temple Baptist Church in Fordyce. He was preceded in death by his parents, Irvin and Alta Mae Earl Purifoy; wife, Hershia Denton Purifoy; brother, Alvis Purifoy; sisters, Freda Parker and Syble Rogers; grandchildren, Michael Brent Garner and Kaitlyn Purifoy. He is survived by two sons, Loyld Purifoy of Fordyce, Tim Purifoy of Bearden; two daughters, Mary Jo Tarver of Smackover, Cathy Kimbrell of Thornton; two brothers, Lerfon Purifoy and Ernest Purifoy both of Bearden; one sister, Estella Todd of Fordyce; special friend, Yvonne Simpson of Fordyce; seven grandchildren and four great grandchildren. Visitation will be Monday 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Benton Funeral Home in Fordyce. Graveside services will be 10:00 am Tuesday at Denton Cemetery in Banks with Rev. Jim Woodell and Rev.
