Irvin Jackson Bass, age 82 of Hot Springs passed away Monday, November 28, 2022 at his home. He was born June 22, 1940 in Bearden, Arkansas. He was a lifelong Baptist and retired educator having worked in several schools in south Arkansas. His last position was superintendent of Fountain Lake School in Hot Springs. Jackie was a very caring and generous man, always thinking of others and how he might be able to help someone whenever he could. His generosity to his fellow man was genuine and sincere and will not soon be forgotten. Jackie always had a strong relationship with his Lord and Savior that guided him all the steps of his life. And of course all that know Jackie understand how much he loved the dogs that he and Gloria had over the years….they were very special to him.
Jackie is preceded in death by his parents, Jack Winfred Bass and Susie Elizabeth Wallingsford Bass; grandparents, Irvin Jasper and Mamie Bass; and uncle and aunt, Lewis and Mamie Ruth Caton. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Gloria Willis Bass of Hot Springs; and one sister, Mollie (Charles) Weaver of Warren.
In lieu of flowers donations may be given to Bearden First Assembly of God Church, P.O. Box 479 Bearden, AR 71720. Graveside services will be 11:00 am Friday at Moss Cemetery in Bearden with Rev.
