Herschel F. Thornton

Herschel F. Thornton, 89, of Hampton died Friday, February 1, 2013 at Ouachita County Medical Center in Camden. He was born February 4, 1923 in Columbia County, Arkansas. He was a retired logging contractor and a retired associate minister for Victory Church in Camden. He is preceded in death by his parents, Odis Roy Thornton and Lora Pearce Thornton; daughter, Diana Lynn Chamberlain; brother, Ralph Thornton; sister, Ruby Hudson; and grandchild, Lisa Williams. He is survived by his wife, Clydie Carter Thornton of Hampton; one son and daughter-in-law, Roy and Roe Ann Thornton of Gravette; one daughter and son-in-law, Carol and Carey Rowland of Stephens; seven grandchildren and sixteen great grandchildren. Visitation will be Sunday 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Benton Funeral Home in Hampton. Funeral services will be 10:00 am Monday at Victory Church in Camden with Rev. Jerry Ables and Rev.
