Herman W. Dunn

Herman W. Dunn, 95, of Hampton died August 20, 2009 at Hillsboro Life Care in
El Dorado. Herman was born December 2, 1913 in Hampton, a son of the late Watson H. and Mattie Waldrup Dunn. He was also preceded in death by his wife of 75 years, Juanita Blake Dunn; two sons, Gerald R. Dunn and Russell Dunn; a brother, Fred Dunn.

Herman was blessed with a great memory of people, dates, events and family history. Many people sought him out to find out about their ancestors. He was a member of Faustina Methodist Church and a Mason. He worked on many jobs, including as pipe fitter, certified welder, cotton farmer, boilermaker, and in waterworks. He has worked in 44 of the 48 continental U.S. States.

Herman is survived by a son, Larry Dunn and his wife Sharon of Hampton; a daughter, Sandra Dunn Williams and her husband, Larry of Greenbrier; daughter-in-law, Lil Dunn of Yuma, AZ; first cousin Mattie Sue Speer of Fordyce; eleven grandchildren, Joyce Kruger (Gus) of Deer Park , WA, Jayne Moore (Billie), Janice Davis (Larry) all of Chattaroy, WA, Lisa Cox (Barry) of Shelbyville, TN, Eric Dunn (Brooke) of Shelbyville, TN, Blake Dunn (Kelly), Todd Dunn (Rae Ann), Laura Robertson (Malcolm), all of El Dorado, Donna James (Lynn), Holly Anderson (Howell) all of Greenbrier, Kristy Pruitt (Marty) of Little Rock; three step-grandchildren; nineteen great-grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren.

Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the Benton Funeral Home in Hampton. Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Monday at Faustina Methodist Church with Rev. Buddy Hamner and Rev.
