Harvey Raymond Spears, 84, of Fordyce died Wednesday Oct 27, 2010 at the Dallas County Medical Center in Fordyce. Born June 2, 1926 at Fordyce, he was a son of the late Harvey Lewis and Lela Crain Spears. Mr. Spears was a member of Beech Grove Baptist Church and a Navy veteran, serving during World War II. He is preceded in death by five sisters, Lois Wilson, Geneva Thompson, Oneida Hardman, Maudie Keeton, Pauline McCullough; two brothers, Dewey Spears and Leslie Spears. He is survived by his wife, Ina McCullough Spears of Fordyce; two daughters, Carolyn Chambers (Roy) of New Edinburg, Beverly Nutt (Tommy) of Fordyce; four grandchildren; Jeff Chambers of Little Rock, Channe Chambers Witt of New Edinburg, Tammy Nutt Grayson of Star City, Toby Nutt of Alma; thirteen great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Benton Funeral Home in Fordyce. Funeral Services will be 2:00 p.m. Friday October 29, 2010 at the Benton Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Nathan Petty and Rev. Roger Copeland officiating. Burial will follow in McCoy Cemetery at New Edinburg. Arrangements by Benton Funeral Home of Fordyce.
