Gwendolyn Jane Wilkes Jordan, 74 of Fordyce, died Tuesday, June 5, 2012 in Fordyce. She was born January 17, 1938 in Bearden, Arkansas to the late Everett "Hooks" Wilkes and Janie Eloise Hogg Wilkes. She was also preceded in death by her brothers-in law, Melvin Reece and Tommy Jordan, and her sisters-in-law Yvonne Crolius and Sue Mendino.
She is survived by her husband Don Jordan of Fordyce; son James "Tiger" Jordan and wife Laurie of Hot Springs; three daughters, Janie Daniell of Fordyce, Donna Young and husband Phillip of Rye, and Pam Henderson and husband Ken of Grand Prairie, Texas; her brother Bruce Wilkes and wife Betty of Kingsland; her sister Norine Wheeler and husband Harold of Valliant, Oklahoma; grandchildren Jason Young and wife Debbie of Rye, Cobi Cogbill of Rye, Blair Jordan of Hot Springs, Benson Jordan of Hot Springs, Zachary Henderson of Grand Prairie, Texas, and Kendall Henderson of Grand Prairie, Texas.
The family will receive friends Wednesday night from 6 PM until 8 PM at Benton Funeral Home in Fordyce. Graveside services will be 10 AM Thursday at Kingsland Cemetery with Rev. Mark Rivers and Rev. Harold Harper officiating. The Harpertown Boys will serve as pallbearers. They are Bruce Fikes, Brian Bales, Brian Hopkins, Vernon Brooks, Steve Anderson, Benson Jordan, Parker Brooks, Forrest Fikes, Cameron Anderson, and David Jordan. Dr. Kevin Hale will serve as honorary pallbearer. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Kamo's Kids Foundation, 269 Pittman Rd., Hot Springs, AR 71913.
