Gladys Mitchell, 81 of Kingsland, died Monday, September 3, 2012. She was born January 18, 1931 in Calhoun County to the late Turner and Ruby Johnson Nowlin. She was preceded in death by her husband Roy M. Mitchell; two brothers, Hurshel Nowlin and Turner Nowlin, Jr.; four sisters, Burnice Lutrell, Helen Scott, Juanita Swann, and Thettie Sue Savage; and her granddaughter, Jennifer Mitchell.
She is survived by two sons, Roy and Larry Mitchell both of Kingsland; a daughter, Marsha McKnight of Gillette, Wyoming; a sister, Shirley McGann of Kingsland; 10 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.
Visitation will be Wednesday evening from 6 PM until 8 PM at Benton Funeral Home in Fordyce. Funeral services are 10 AM Thursday at First Baptist Church of Kingsland. Burial will follow in Graves Cemetery. Arrangements are by Benton Funeral Home of Fordyce. To sign the online register visit www.bentonfuneralhome.com .
