Gladys Gertrude Crowder

Gladys Gertrude Crowder of Carthage was born February 11, 1923 to Ivory Jewel and Lilly Gladys Crouse Watson. She went home to be with Jesus on July 15, 2008 in her home in Ivy Community. She is survived by her husband and best friend of 64 years, Merl Crowder of Carthage and three daughters, Sandra Morris and husband Don of Carthage; Kathy Hendrix of Carthage; and Debbie Overton of Lonoke. Also, seven grandchildren, Shane and Heather Morris, Michael, Jeremy, and Brandi Hendrix, Rusty Overton, and Robyn Crews, as well as twelve great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her only son, Michael Crowder and one sister, Kathryn Catton. She was a loving mother, devoted wife, and faithful member of Hopewell Missionary Baptist Church. Visitation will be Wednesday 6pm until 8pm at Benton Funeral Home in Fordyce. Funeral services will be Thursday 2:00pm at Hopewell Missionary Baptist Church near Carthage.
