Gila F. Earnest, 84 of Hampton, died Monday, May 23, 2011. She was born December 5, 1926 in Tinsman, Arkansas to the late James H. and Velma Duncan Smead. She was preceded in death by her husbands James R. Earnest and Glenn R. McKinnie, and three brothers,William Horace Smead, Homer "Speedy" Smead, and R.G. Smead.
She is survived by two sons, Rickie and Donnie McKinnie, both of Hampton; one brother, Norman "Slick" Smead of East End, four grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be Monday 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Benton Funeral Home in Fordyce. Funeral services are 2 PM Tuesday at the Benton Funeral Home Chapel in Fordyce. Burial at Earnest Cemetery.
